China Glaze Crackle Glaze Review

China Glaze Crackle Glaze Black Mesh

The China Glaze Crackle Glaze is a special effects top coat which when applied over another colour polish dries with the effect of cracks on your polish.

Crackle Glaze Black Mesh on top of 17 Sea Breeze.
Crackle Glaze Black Mesh on top of 17 Pink Grapefruit.

I really like the effect this polish gives because sometime bright colours can be too "in your face" and I think this kind of calms them down or distracts your eye from the colour below. You can use other effect polishes along with this one, such as a matte top coat on the colour and then the shiny crackle on top, or a glitter colour with the crackle on top! The crackle part can chip quite easily close to the tips of the nails because it's more raised than the rest of the polish, so it might not last that long depending on what you're doing (this photo was after around 30 hours), but I think it is perfect for a night out in the city or for a party!

Available in 6 normal shades and 6 metallic shades.
15ml bottle.
Can be applied over any colour nail varnish.
Available from for £9.25 each and £2.45 for delivery.
Might be found in Sallys.

Dries quite quickly.
A quick and easy nail art.
Nice range of colours.
Each nail will look different.
Different effects can be gained depending on how thick or thin the layer is.
Good brush with a not too thin but not really thick polish consistency.

Can chip easily because of the raised areas. (as seen above!)
Hard to get off.
Not easy to get hold of on the highstreet.
Perfectionist might not like the difficulty to make all nails the same.

  1. I really like black crackle polish. The Barry M one is a good easy to find alternative

  2. It's a lovely effect! I've heard great things about the Barry M one, it's a shame it wasn't out when I bought this one :(
