Be Bold with Barry M Bold Waterproof Eyeliners

"These luxurious eyeliners apply as smoothly as a liquid with the precision of a pencil. They are waterproof and super long lasting with more than 8 hours wear!"

I've always loved wearing eyeliner on my waterline, especially colours, but I've always struggled with finding some that last longer than walking down the street! Now, thanks to Barry M, I can wear lovely colours all day long!

I bought 3 of the Bold Waterproof Eyeliners from Boots, £3.99 each or 3 for 2, in Purple, Gold and Silver, and boy am I impressed! They all glide on beautifully without any pressure at all but still give full colour so they will last for ages without sharpening. All the colours show as their true shade on both the skin and eyes, and the pigment is really strong so there's no worrying about the colours failing to apply the same way they look in the pencil.

I know the true test for these is the lasting power; I have only worn the purple one properly, and I applied it at around 11am and removed it at 10pm. It was applied to my waterline and lasted through watering eyes, lots of laughing, and plenty of rubbing! By 10pm there was only a little left against my lashes but to say normal eyeliner only lasts me around 3 hours, I don't think that is a problem AT ALL!

I am really impressed with these and might go and buy the other colours soon! If you, like me, like to wear colours on your waterline but it doesn't last long, then definitely try these!

What do you think of them? Have you tried them?

In The Post Today! New Dorothy Perkins Jacket.

Meet my lovely new jacket from Dorothy Perkins! Isn't it beautiful? I've been looking for a light jacket for ages to wear when it is too warm for a coat but too cold for just a cardigan, and this is just perfect. It's a very silky material but sits nicely without seeming baggy or shapeless, and the colour means it will go with absolutely anything, as well as being a nice change from blacks, greys and whites.

You can buy this online and instores right now at £40, but some sizes are already sold out so buy quick if you like it!

NOTD: Gelicure with Konad

Long time, no post! I've been so busy with college and work lately that I lost all blog inspiration. I'm hoping to start blogging regularly again, starting with this lovely piece.

*Warning, a picture of a toe (and a half) coming up!*

This is Gelicure (a 3 week soak off gel polish) in Rugosa Rose (now changed to Rugosa Red for some reason) with Konad art from plate M36, using their special polish in White.

I trained in Gelicure a few months ago and I have fallen in love. They have a lovely range of colours, it goes on just like a polish, cured with a UV lamp and lasts up to 3 weeks with a constant lovely shine.

What do you all think?

Guest Post - Makeup looks for spring

This post was guest written by Saisha Potts from www.cafelamoda.co.uk.

 Makeup looks for spring

I know it’s still pretty chilly outside and it’s a while yet until we can put those clocks forwards but I am cheerfully pretending that spring is well on its way. And that means just one thing – it’s time to think about spring makeup looks. And this spring it seems it’s quite simple: the bolder, the better. All the catwalks went for bright and bold looks, and both Clinique and MAC have recently released new collections for spring that are full of vibrant shades. This makes me so happy – I just can’t wait for spring to come and to start wearing bright and beautiful makeup.

But before I get too excited how bright are we talking? And how do we wear it?
Colour wise more is more. There’s not really a colour you can’t go for if you’re brave enough. Whatever colours you choose make sure they are the poster paint version of it – lilac, for example, needs to be bright and powerful, not a subtle pastel shade. Personally I am going to opt for turquoises, corals, lilacs and pretty pinks.

It seems that if you wear it bright you need to clash colours where you can. But importantly, not on your face! Don’t go for bright eyes and lips – it’s one or the other. Instead it’s all about clashing bright make up looks with bold clothing. For example if you wear a splash of emerald across your eyelids then you should wear it with some bright turquoise jeans.
When it come to lips think lilacs, corals and even some blues and greens. Barry M is always a safe bet when it comes to bright shades. One of their lip paints – either pretty pink or palest lavender should add a great slick of bold spring colour.

Finally to go alongside these brights, another big look for spring 2012 is cat-like eyes. And that means lashings of gel eyeliner. Both Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana went for this ultra-feminine look in their spring/summer 2012 shows. For the perfect flick and swish use Bobbi Brown’s long wear gel eye liner or, for a cheaper alternative, Maybelline’s new cat-eyes range.

Swatch Happy Saturday: Sleek Lipsticks

 Matte Bare All
Matte Pink Freeze

(Ignore the gap on the bottom of my lips, I have a scar & very dry matte lipsticks struggle to go over it)
